  Bronze Age Bressay! Launch Week - Special Events

With the rescuing of a 4000 year old Burnt Mound from coastal erosion below the Hill of Cruester this summer, the site has now been reconstructed outside the Bressay Heritage Centre.

A launch week has been organised to celebrate this, with the aim of increasing an understanding of what these burnt mounds seem to have been used for and to increase understanding of this time period in general.

Saturday 23rd August includes:

- Official launch by Tavish Scott MSP
- Experimental workshop with Living History Team
- 'Cook using Bronze Age techniques'
- 'Create a prehistoric Sauna'
- Pottery making (and firing in a turf kiln)
- Kids excavation
- Guided tours
