Meet the storytellers...
Lawrence Tulloch is a native of Yell and came from a family steeped in folklore and stories. He has worked, as a storyteller, in places as far away as America and Sweden. He is the Author of a book of folktales called ‘The Foy’ and he is an occasional broadcaster.
Davy Cooper is a native Shetlander who has spent most of his life on the islands. He has contributed to several books both as a writer and illustrator and is in regular demand as a storyteller in schools and at events throughout Shetland and beyond. He has a keen interest in the folklore of Shetland as well as its heritage both natural and cultural.
Bob Pegg is a storyteller who weaves music and song into his tales. He lives in the Highlands, and has performed and given workshops in schools, festivals, community venues and concert halls, from the Festival Hall in London, to Borgarnes in Iceland, to the Wind Dog Café on Yell.
Valerie Watt is a Shetland storyteller with a very special friend, a trow called Peester Leetie. She’s also regularly visited by Tushie Truncherfaece, the world's only journalist trow. She will share some of the yarns, tales and tunes he has told her about life as a 21st Century trow. For age 7+.
