It is important to us that you have access to the holiday information you need to effectively plan your holiday. We appreciate that you may like to plan your holiday, and to do this, you need to gather information from a variety of sources. Our two Tourist Information Centres are the first place to start, whether by e-mail, telephone, fax or post.
The main Tourist Information Centre is based at the Market Cross, in the heart of the Old Town of Lerwick. Another one is located at the Sumburgh Airport. A key contact, we can assist with your holiday planning before you arrive, during your holiday and for feedback after you have returned home.
We can advise on your travel plans, suggest alternatives or provide an outline itinerary for your stay. In addition, we have an extensive information range on various elements of your holiday and contacts across the industry. This means that we can check the latest information, talk to the right people, and help you pull your holiday together.
We have an excellent accommodation booking service. Being in a close contact with all establishments, we have up to date information on hand to assist in quick and easy accommodation selection. Whether you are staying in one establishment, or touring and have multi-stay needs, we will be happy to find and book your accommodation on your behalf.
We operate a popular mail order service, sending our map, guides, publications, CDs, gifts and other goodies around the globe. Our visitors call us looking for items that evoke their memories of Shetland. People who have spent their holiday here and returned home call up to buy that book they couldn’t quite fit in their suitcase. And those who love to prepare for their holiday find us a heaven sent source. Check out the range on page 41 or call us if there is something you would particularly like.
When you arrive, you’ll find our visitor shop has shelves of useful publications, maps, guides, postcards, gifts, souvenirs and crafts. It is an ideal place to start or end your holiday.
We are happy to provide a booking service for boat trips and tours. There is a range to choose from: boat trips, street trails, walking tours, and group or individual bus and car tours. They can take you to the hidden treasures and the secret places and are full of insider tips.
